WE do Wind Mitigation Inspections:
This inspection is suggested by your insurance agent to see if you qualify for wind mitigation credits. These credits are determined by a standard State form that covers different structure and design elements of the home. The OIR-B1-1802, or Uniform Mitigation Verification Form is a two page document that must be signed by the inspector and policy holder. It is focused on the geometry of the roof, roof covering, decking attachment, attachment to the wall, type of wall and protection of window and door openings. You may qualify for all, some, or none of the credits. If you know that your roof covering is newer than 2001, or you have a hip roof, or you have rated window protection (either rated glass or protective covering); you may want to strongly consider the advantages of this inspection.
The time of inspection varies from property to propery, but on average an inspection takes about 40 minutes and includes a walk-on roof inspection and attic inspection.
The flat rate for any property in Central Florida under 4000 sq/ft is $125.00. The form is good for five years.
